Magna Carta

During the early 12th century, King John the First was not taking very good care of England. The noblemen of England were fed up with the king unlawfulness and the way he tried to take their power. In result, the lords decided to write a charter proclaiming that even the king had to obey the laws of the land. Because of the Magna Carta, Medieval Kings, including King John I, took less power for themselves and were better behaved.
