Priests - Head of the Church

Picture
Priest of the Middle Ages
In the Middle Ages, the Priests had very influential roles in society. They were confidants, teachers, preachers, and tax collecters. People would come to the church to confess their sins to the Priests and would get advice on how to live their lives and get over their problems. There were also Priests who lived as monks in the monestaries. Priests would also preform the rituals for the dead and help people get to heaven. If a Priest was lucky they would take over from a dead Bishop or inherit another church from a retired Priest.......for extra money of course!!!

TRICK QUESTION!!!!!!!!
